Thailand - End September

Back to Thailand and back to Bangkok. Instead of tourist-y stuff this time we mainly shopped and drank (for a change!).

In Kanchanaburi we relaxed by the river after a disturbing visit to the Death Railway museum. We found out about the coup only when another museum was closed and traveled back to Bangkok to see armed soldiers keeping an eye on the city.

In Ko Tao we learnt to dive. Neither of us really liked putting our head under water to start with, and Chris has a fear of open water, so we were pretty pleased to complete our Open Water and Advanced courses! We celebrated of course in the usual way...! (note Chris has a bucket to everyone elses single drink!)

We bused across the country for a windy wet day motorbiking around Krabi, then a few nights on Pi Pi, where we clambered thru caves to reach 'the beach' and which is recovering pretty well from the Tsunami.
